He's the man behind the creation of Thanos, the intergalactic villain and titan behind next month's Avengers: Infinity War.
He also wrote the The Death of Captain Marvel, perhaps the most valuable and sought after book in Marvel's original graphic novel line up.
So if you've ever heard of Thanos, Drax the Destroyer, or Gamora, you've got Jim Starlin to thank.
He's also the man behind Dreadstar - in this Paint Monk's Library interview, Jim talks to guest librarian David Conine about his career, his art, and the re-publishing of Jim Starlin: In Words and Pictures - by AfterShock Comics.

If you're not familiar with Scout or Grimjack, Truman's resume is still impressive - he owned his own 4Winds publishing imprint and began his artistic career with SPI and TSR, Inc. He's illustrated numerous DC and Marvel Comics projects, including many issues of Jonah Hex for DC's Vertigo line and graphic novels like "Ka-Zar: Guns of the Savage Land" for Marvel. More recent work by Truman includes a 10-year run on Dark Horse Comics' Conan the Barbarian titles. Tim's interview with Joeseph was split into two different parts that ran over the course of a week at Paint Monk's Library.

For Paint Monk's Library, Mr. Windsor-Smith graciously answered a few short questions with regard to both his work on Howard's Cimmerian and his time at Marvel. Some of answers were sad yet eye-opening. Conducted by Wally Monk, this short "mini-interview" via email exchange is very brief yet also compelling. It's a sad testament to a legendary artist who was seemingly treated very poorly by some companies in his tenure as an artist. While I don't know all the details, my only thought is that if you're blessed with a diamond, you don't treat it poorly - you let it shine, well-polished, for all to appreciate.
